These little guys forage with Mom most of the day, but when we put the parrots outside we share hard-boiled egg, watermelon, blackberries,... Chestnut-backs are smaller than Black-capped Chickadees. Their color helps them camouflage against the branches of Redwood and Fir trees. No, eating eggs does not make them cannibals. Chickadees are no more closely related to chickens (from which the eggs came) than we are to cows and pigs.
